| Most
people see cats as much loved pets, cat lovers usually
want their cats to enjoy fresh air, sunshine and the
ambience of trees, bushes and plants; they see cats
as free, independent creatures who should not be confined.
Here at Jones and Son
we broadly agree with this philosophy, however it is
when the cat decides to do its business in the next
door garden that conflict occurs.
Human contact
with cat faeces can result in the contracting of various
diseases, one of the most common being toxoplasmosis.
Cats that poo in the neighbour's flowerbed or a child's
sandpit can quite rightly be deemed pests.
The symptoms
of toxoplasmosis (akin to flu symptoms) include various
aches and pains, a slightly raised temperature and enlarged
lymph glands. In most cases people are not aware that
they have got toxoplasmosis and get better within a
few weeks.
If you feel that
you have contracted the disease toxoplasmosis and your
symptoms could be described as anything other than mild,
you should consult your doctor.Particularly if you fall
into one of the following two categories:
People with poor immunity or pregnant mothers.
There are also
growing numbers of people who see cats as pests for
other reasons, including the known fact that cats will
kill garden birds. These people are distressed and angered
by someone else's cat killing birds in their garden.
Here at Jones and Son
we have put together a range of cat deterrent and cat
repellent products that can be used to prevent unwanted
cats from entering your garden.
All of our cat
deterrents will not harm the cat, they simply provide
mild discomfort encouraging the cat to move away. The
cat very quickly learns not to enter a protected area
and then of course feels no further discomfort.
If you've got
a cat deterrent question, click
here and we will answer you within 2 hours (Mon
- Fri, 9am - 5pm) if you send your question after 5pm
we will get back to you first thing the next day. Test
us; if we fail we will send you a large bar of chocolate.
